About the Heads
What exactly am I buying?
A raw, unfinished putter head milled from a single block of either 1018 carbon steel or 303 stainless steel. It ships unpolished, unshafted, and unstamped unless you request stamping. Expect visible tool marks. It is a blank starting point, not a finished retail putter.
What's the difference between 1018 carbon steel and 303 stainless steel?
1018 is softer, delivers a classic responsive feel at impact, and will develop a natural patina and rust if left untreated. It requires a finish, plating, or oil treatment before regular play. 303 stainless is corrosion-resistant, holds up without treatment, and takes finishes cleanly from bead-blast to mirror polish. Both are single-block milled to the same tolerances.
Do you make right-hand and left-hand?
Yes, all four designs are available in RH and LH. Please check the Collection page for current stock. If you're looking for a specific design and hand combination that isn't listed, reach out through the Contact page and I can advise on lead time.
Services
Can you add a shaft?
No. Sanitas ships heads only. Shafting is left to the builder or your club fitter.
Can you stamp the head?
Yes. We offer stamping up to 6 total characters. When you place your order, please specify:
- The exact letters or numbers you want
- The location on the head where you want them (flange, bumper, sole, etc.)
If you're unsure about placement, reach out through the Contact page before ordering and we can talk through what works best for the design you chose.
Do you offer custom milling, weighting, or finishing?
Not at this time. Every head ships as a standard raw blank so builders have full control over the finishing work themselves.
Do you take custom design requests?
Not currently. New designs are released as the shop grows. Follow along to see what's next.
Orders and Shipping
How long does it take to ship?
Standard orders ship within 3 business days. Stamped orders ship within 5 to 7 business days.
Where do you ship?
US only at this time.
How do I track my order?
You'll receive a tracking number by email once your order ships.
Returns and Damage
What is your return policy?
All sales are final. Sanitas heads ship as raw milled blanks intended for custom builds, and we do not accept returns.
What if my head arrives damaged?
Contact us within 7 days of delivery with photos and we'll make it right.
Finishing and Care
Do I need to finish the head before playing it?
1018 carbon steel needs some form of finish, plating, or oil treatment before regular play or it will rust. 303 stainless does not require treatment and can be played raw if you like the look.
What finishes work well?
1018 takes almost anything: torch, oil, bluing, DLC, copper, nickel, and more. 303 stainless takes bead-blast, brushed, and polished finishes well. Both can be stamped, milled, and modified with standard shop tools.
Will the head develop a patina?
1018 will patina naturally with use and exposure, which is part of the appeal for many builders. 303 stainless will hold its finish long term.
