Our Story
From a Colorado Peak to Your Bench
Sanitas is a mountain west of Boulder. It's not the tallest or the most famous, but locals know it well. That mountain is where this brand starts, and it's where the name comes from.
Growing Up on Putters
Long before Sanitas Putters existed, there was a kid in Colorado obsessed with putter design. Milling patterns, neck styles, hosel offsets, the way a face looks after a good polish. I studied every putter I could get my hands on. And every time, I found myself wanting to take it apart and finish it my way. Stamp my own name into the flange. Move the weight. Change the finish. Make it mine.
The problem was simple: nobody sold raw heads. If you wanted to build, you were stuck reworking someone else's finished product, fighting through paint fill, plating, and factory stamps just to get to bare metal.
Why Sanitas Exists
Sanitas Putters fills that gap. Every head ships raw and unfinished, ready for the builder to make it their own. Stamp it. Mill it. Torch it. Bead blast it. Leave it raw and let it patina in your bag. Whatever you have in mind, we hand you the starting point.
We work in materials that hold up to the work:
- 1018 carbon steel — soft feel, ages with use
- 303 stainless steel — clean, durable, takes a finish well
- More on the way as the shop grows
Built for Builders
This isn't a brand for people who want a finished putter off the rack. It's for club builders and tinkerers who see a raw head and already know what they'd do with it. If that's you, you're in the right place.
